UpRising offers 50 senior High School Design & Technology students the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, businesses, and community members, to receive feedback on their prototypes, collaborate, and promote their projects. It's simple yet powerful and does not add any more to teachers or students' workload. It is a great way for students to develop their major projects and capabilities.
Entries are limited to 3 students per school. Due to the great support of IP Australia, there is no registration fee this year.
The Process
1. Teachers, save three spaces for your Year 12 Design & Technology class by clicking on the registration link. Opens Thursday 21st Nov 6am. Teachers then have until the end of November to decide which three students will enter. We will hold your places until the end of the year.
2. Get your three students & their parents to complete the Terms & Conditionsand submit in the contact page.
3. Whilst this is happening ask your three students to create their UpRising 'User account' in UpRising platform by clicking on the Sign up link
4. When T&Cs have been received, and students have created their account, we will elevate them to ‘Author’ status and they will be able to create their POST.
5. All posts are expected to be LIVE at the beginning of February 2025 on the UpRising platform. Students can then promote their MDP idea, connect with businesses, get likes, feedback, offers of assistance, and mentorship. Students need to respond to these comments and feedback to maintain these connections.
6. In March, three student projects will receive Seed Funding via a People's Choice 'likes', mechanism.
7. In April UpRising students and teachers are invited into a careers and industry workshop day. Connect with other teachers, students and industry experts in the design and Tech world.
